Can BOTS replace human empathy, care and a trusted relationship?

In the world we are living in today, we can see that AI is taking over every aspect of our lives.  BOTS are replacing real people to solve our issues over the phone and over the Internet.  We can see more people losing their jobs.  It is an uncertain future and certainly a challenging one.

So, what is going to happen in the field of “Life Coaching”?

Let me ask you a few questions.

  • How does it feel when you make a call to a bank or other institutions, and a BOT picks up your query?

  • What do you feel if the query is complicated and the BOT just doesn’t get it.

  • When you put down the phone and even after your query is answered, what do you feel after the call?

  • What would you feel if AI responded to your anxiety issues?

Of course there are pros.  You don’t have to wait for a “real person” to deal with your issues and the matter could be dealt with quickly.  You don’t need to match your schedules with a real Life Coach.

Humans possess emotional intelligence, allowing us to read nuances in tone, facial expressions, and body language. Ultimately, we require empathy, care, and a trusted relationship—qualities that develop over time with a life coach and remain irreplaceable.

Yes of course, coaches can use AI to help with administrative tasks.  I can foresee mental illness and isolation being the by-products of a world that runs mostly on AI and much less on human intervention and connection.
